Frequently asked questions.
Are you beginner-friendly?
While we are the friendliest bunch of nerds on bikes, the ride itself is an intermediate ride. The majority of people who ride with us are confident in their bike skills and have been riding for a while, whether on the road, mountain biking, or gravel. Starting in 2026, we will do one beginner ride a month. This ride will be slightly shorter and the pace will be dictated by who shows up. The beginner ride will be 100% no-drop.
Why don’t i see a route posted on strava?
The routes are posted on the Sunday before the Tuesday of the ride @ https://www.strava.com/clubs/FCGP.
Are you fast?
Fast is a relative term. We have pace groups ranging from 13-14mph, 15-17mph, and 18+. See this page for more info on what to expect from the pace groups. Starting in 2026, we will do one beginner ride a month. This ride will be slightly shorter and the pace will be dictated by who shows up. The beginner ride will be 100% no-drop.
Where do you ride?
The routes vary but typically we ride the gravel to the northeast of FoCo. We have a page of popular routes but we sometimes shake it up. Check the Strava group for the most recent info. https://www.strava.com/clubs/FCGP
When do you meet?
Typically, we meet at 6pm at the upper lot at Odell Brewing. Once a month or so we move the ride to different start points for variety. We also start at 5:30 pm for a few weeks at the begining and end of the season. Check the Strava group for the most recent info. https://www.strava.com/clubs/FCGP
Do you ride all year?
Kinda. The Tuesday night rides meet from April to mid/early October. Through the fall/winter we meet on weekends. These rides are typically longer and have less structure. There is no set day/time for weekend rides. Check the Strava group for the most recent info. https://www.strava.com/clubs/FCGP
Can I pull a trailer with my dog/kid?
Nope. We are on public roads with a large group at a decent speed. This presents a safety hazard. Also, some routes include narrow bridges or gates. Finally, this is a gravel ride… Your kid or dog doesn’t want to be eating dust or mud for miles at a time.
DO I have to wear a helmet?
Seriously? Yes. Of course. No exceptions.
